Mark your calendars! The 2026 Deaf | Family | Connect fair is coming up soon! I hope you’re able to join us for a day of fun, networking, learning, connecting, and having FUN!
This year’s theme is: Together/Belong.
Together, we make up a wonderful and diverse community of d/Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, hearing, fluent signers, ASL beginners & students, parents, friends, community resources, advocates, family members… and more!
No matter who you are or where you are on your journey, you Belong here! What unites us all is a shared desire to see the Deaf world, the hearing world, and everyone in between come together on common ground – to better understand, support and uplift one another.
At the heart of belonging is understanding. When people understand Deaf culture, they move from intimidated to curious… curiosity turns to respect – and respect transforms into inclusion. One of our goals for the fair this year is to help break down myths and misconceptions about Deaf people.
New this year: the FAQ Zone!
This area will be focused on answering questions from YOU. The FAQ Zone will be staffed with Deaf professionals, educators, advocates and community leaders who are ready to listen and engage with you. We are interested in what matters most to you: your concerns, your questions, your hopes.
Deaf Streetlight wants to create spaces where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued – where everyone Belongs.
WHO is invited?
Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, hearing, adults, kids, parents, signing and non-signing families, family members, friends, professionals and anyone who wants to learn and connect.
To our Deaf community members – you are ASL language models and role models! It’s a great opportunity to socialize and connect with friends… and to build new friendships!
To our hearing families with deaf or hard-of-hearing kids – this is an excellent opportunity to experience a variety of options and to connect with advocates and resources. Bring your kids – there will be lots of fun games and activities for them!
For those learning ASL, you’re welcome, too!
WHAT will I do there?
You can visit booths hosted by various community resources, there are a variety of games, family activities and activities for kids, there are learning opportunities – stop by the FAQ Zone to join the conversations. There will also be a reading corner where Deaf community members will read stories in ASL!
WHY should I come?
Whether you’re looking for answers, support, community, to socialize, or to network, there’s something for everyone.
